I’m still trying to get use to the new name but Anderson Paak is back with a new project.
Collaborating with a new group, the Hellfyre Club, Paak presented the “Cover Art” EP; an innovative soul-fused covered project. Seminal Rock ‘n Pop love songs of the last decade are ambitiously transformed through a contemporary hiphop and R&B song-sculpting lens. Standout lead single “MAPS” made famous by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs gets a totally tipped treatment of crooning vocals paired with minimally arranged electronic production, allowing the remainder of the voyage to fuse rapping, live instrumentation, and vocal range to pave the way for things to come from this uprising talent.
