As we wind the year down, its around this time where I start to clear the inbox. As I dig up the last few gems before deletion, I came across three Statik Selektah’s singles, “Crystal Clear” featuring Royce Da 5’9 and “All You Need” featuring Action Bronson, Elle Varner, Ab-Soul, and I believe Chauncy Sherod of CharlieRed, and “Beautiful Life” featuring once agai, Action Bronson and Joey Bada$$. This comes from Selektah’s,”Lucky 7” which is out now. If these singles don’t get you to buy “Lucky 7“, I don’t know what will.

And The Winners Of The 2013 XXL Freshman List Goes Toooo…

March 27th, 2013 | By Janei

xxl13

Congratulations to the artists selected on this year’s XXL Freshmen list. The cover looks amazing and inspirational. If you haven’t seen or heard who made the cover, these are the list of people: Schoolboy Q, Trinidad Jame$, Joey Bada$$, Ab-Soul, Logic, Action Bronson, Kirko Bangz, Travi$ Scott, Dizzy Wright (10 Spot People’s Champion Winner), Angel Haze, and Chief Keef (“The 11th Freshman”).

Every year there is always a massive debate as to who is getting it, when it comes to upcoming music. XXL probably takes one of the biggest hits, because they are the ones who actually let the people vote and decide. There are no heavyweights at a round table judging who’s going to be the next star. It’s always been said, if you don’t like what you hear, don’t support it. You can’t be surprised if you see a famed 15 minutes goes past an hour, if all you do is talk about that person or their music. So, for years of debates, controversy, and questionable covers, I think XXL has got the 2013 issue right this time.

Running a blog that showcases nothing but upcomers and undergrounders, it great to see that people are looking past what’s on tv and on the radio, and delving a little bit deeper into what’s coming up next. I can personally say that each person on this cover has been working their ass off, grinding, making a name for themselves, perfecting their craft, and giving good memorable music to the public. I can stand by my statement because well… they all have been featured on Anonymously Gifted! You can search any name on this cover, and 90% of the content will show up.

To see the people that we’ve been pushing for years, out grow the anonymous tag to gaining exposures in magazines, is an accomplishment. We WILL continue to put forth the effort to bring amazing up and comers for years to come. Everyone deserves a shot in life.  Thank you to XXL and congratulation to the Class of 13.

AG must be doing something right……..

Joey Bada$$ – Enter The Void (NY)

November 15th, 2012 | By Janei

Never was a strong fan of Joey Bada$$, but I must admit that his new single, ‘Enter The Void‘, is a smoke out banger. And I’m not just saying that because Ab-Soul is featured on it. I give credit where its due. Letting people know to keep all three of their eyes open, Joey and Soul tag teams all over Lee Bannon’s ill beat.
